Clinical Associate Professor David Horgan, a Medical Specialist, who is a Psychiatrist, has prepared this site.
He has a lifelong interest in community awareness of depression and suicide, and making access to help easy and without stigma. He set up suicide prevention services Australia wide in the 1990s, and is now doing the same in the country where he was educated as a doctor.

He now lives and works in Melbourne, where he is on the staff of the University of Melbourne and the Royal Melbourne Hospital. He works mainly in private practice, treating almost exclusively resistant depression which has failed to respond to initial psychiatric care.
He has written a number of publications on various aspects of Psychiatry, especially Depression and bipolar illness, and he has lectured extensively to senior medical students, to psychiatrists in training, and to family doctors and specialists about depression and suicide prevention. He has lectured a number of times to psychiatrists all over Australia about the treatment of resistant and complicated depression, and especially about combining 2 antidepressants simultaneously, has published journal articles in this area, and continues research in this form of treatment.
